Overview

When the register stops, so does the business. We come to your restaurant, café or shop to install a new POS system or fix the one you have: terminals, receipt and kitchen printers, kitchen display screens, card readers, cash drawers, scanners and the network they all depend on. We are not tied to any POS brand, so we can help you compare options for your type of business and budget. Work can be scheduled before opening, after closing or on your day off to keep disruption to a minimum.

Who it is for

  • Restaurants, cafés, bubble tea shops and takeout
  • Supermarkets, grocery and convenience stores
  • Salons, spas and other businesses that take payments
  • Owners opening a new location or changing POS systems

What we do

The work this service usually covers. The exact scope is set out in the written quote after an on-site assessment.

  1. New installs and system changes

Terminals, printers, cash drawers, scanners and other peripherals installed and connected, then tested one by one: ordering, tickets, card payments and receipts.

  2. Menus and item data

Menus, combos, modifiers, tax settings, discounts and staff accounts set up. For shops, items and barcodes imported, with label printers and scales connected.

  3. Printers and kitchen tickets

Receipt printers, kitchen printers and kitchen display screens (KDS) routed by station. Where the system supports it, kitchen tickets print in Chinese and receipts in English. We also fix tickets that do not print, print garbled or go missing.

  4. Card readers and delivery tablets

Card terminals installed, networked and linked to the POS. Delivery-app tablets and their printers placed, powered and connected so the counter stays tidy.

  5. A network for the register

Terminals, printers and card readers wired wherever possible and kept apart from customer Wi-Fi, to cut down on lag, lost tickets and failed card payments.

  6. Troubleshooting and upkeep

Frozen terminals, offline printers, card readers that will not connect and problems after updates, diagnosed and fixed on site.

How it works

Nothing starts until you approve the quote, and parts or equipment are bought only with your OK.

  1. Tell us about your setup

Your type of business, the current system and device models (photos by WeChat or email are fine), and what needs fixing or when you plan to open.

  2. On-site assessment and written quote

We look at the counter, kitchen and network, agree on the scope and give you a written quote listing the work and any equipment to buy.

  3. Work scheduled around your hours

Nothing starts until you approve, and we can work before opening, after closing or on your day off. Equipment is bought at cost with the receipt, only with your approval; any extra time is discussed first.

  4. Testing and an itemized invoice

We test ordering, tickets and card payments end to end and show your staff the basics. The invoice itemizes labor, the trip charge and any pass-through costs.

Questions

Common questions about cost, scheduling and scope.

Which POS systems do you work with?

We are not tied to any brand and can look at most common restaurant and retail POS systems and peripherals. Tell us the system and device models first. Some settings on cloud-based systems can only be changed in the vendor’s back office or through their support line; in that case we can help you work with the vendor. We confirm we can help before booking a visit.

Can you work after closing or on a Sunday?

Yes, we schedule around you. Under our pricing method, labor in the evening (6 pm to 9 am), on Sundays and on holidays is billed at 1.5 times the normal labor charge; the trip charge and pass-through costs stay the same. Saturday daytime counts as a normal day, and there is no rush fee.

Can you fix card processing fees or slow deposits?

We install card terminals, connect them to the network and the POS, and fix connection problems on site. Merchant accounts, processing fees and deposits are part of your contract with the payment processor and have to be handled by them; we can write up what we found on the equipment and network so the conversation with them is easier.

Can you help us choose and buy POS equipment?

Yes. We compare a few options for your type of business and budget, explain the trade-offs and let you decide. Hardware is bought at cost with the receipt, only after you approve; software subscriptions are usually signed directly between you and the vendor, in your name.

How is the cost worked out?

The trip charge is based on round-trip mileage on the Google Maps fastest route. Labor is billed by actual time, with a 1-hour minimum per visit and 15-minute increments after that. Tolls, the Manhattan congestion toll and parking are passed through at actual cost with no markup and itemized; parts are at cost with the receipt and bought only with your approval. You get a written quote after an on-site assessment. See the Pricing page for details.
