Transparent pricing

How we charge

The trip charge follows mileage and labor follows the time actually worked. Tolls, the congestion toll and parking are passed through at actual cost with no markup, and parts are at cost, bought only after you approve. You get a written quote after an on-site assessment.

  • 1-hour minimum per visit, then 15-minute increments
  • Saturday daytime at the regular rate
  • No rush fee
  • Pass-through costs with no markup

The method

What goes into an invoice

We publish how the price is worked out rather than a flat price, because every site has a different distance, route and amount of work. Every invoice itemizes the parts below.

1 Trip charge

Round-trip mileage

  • We follow the Google Maps fastest route (speed first), and the mileage comes from that route.
  • Round trip: from our starting point in Flushing to you and back.
  • Each customer’s trip charge is worked out separately and does not change with how we schedule the day, so the estimate and the invoice use the same method.

2 Labor

Actual time worked

  • 1-hour minimum per visit. Several devices in one visit share that first hour.
  • After the first hour, time is billed in 15-minute increments, with any part of 15 minutes counted as 15.
  • Evenings (6 pm to 9 am), Sundays and holidays: labor ×1.5. Saturday daytime is billed at the regular rate.
  • If more time is needed, we talk to you first.

3 Pass-through costs

Actual cost, no markup

  • Bridge and tunnel tolls: the toll points actually crossed on the fastest route, at the actual E-ZPass charge.
  • Manhattan congestion toll (60th St and below): charged at most once a day and split among that day’s customers inside the zone. Customers outside the zone never share it.
  • Parking: the actual meter or garage receipt.
  • Each one is a separate line on the invoice.

4 Parts & equipment

At cost, with your approval

  • Parts and equipment are charged at cost, with the purchase receipt.
  • We tell you what is needed and why, and buy it only after you approve.
  • We can recommend, buy and install cameras, smart locks, NAS units and routers for you.
About smart product sourcing & installation

Sales tax: Applicable sales tax is extra and shown as its own line.

Remote tech support: No trip charge; labor only, by actual time (a 30-minute minimum per session — anything shorter is billed as 30 minutes — then 15-minute increments), ×1.5 in the evening, on Sundays and on holidays as usual. If a visit turns out to be needed, it is billed the way described above. About remote tech support

Estimate

Get a rough range first

Choose a service and enter a ZIP code or address to see a rough range for the trip charge plus labor. Pass-through costs, parts and tax are extra; for on-site services the final price is the written quote after an on-site assessment. Remote tech support needs no address, and the estimate shows how it is billed.

The estimator needs JavaScript

You can also call (315) 888-5858 or message us on WeChat (daxinsmart) with the service and your ZIP code, and we will estimate it using the method on this page.

Customer type

A 5-digit ZIP code is enough; a full address (with ZIP) gives a tighter range. The address is only used to work out the distance for this estimate.

When

An estimate only. The final price is the written quote after an on-site assessment.

Your estimate

  • A rough range for the trip charge plus labor
  • Pass-through costs, parts and tax explained separately
  • Notes for farther areas, the congestion zone and evening visits

Times & distance

When we come and how far

The time of day only affects labor; the trip charge follows mileage. Farther areas need advance booking.

How labor is calculated at different times

How labor is calculated at different times
When Labor
Monday to Friday, daytime (9 am to 6 pm) Regular
Saturday daytime (9 am to 6 pm) Regular
Evenings (6 pm to 9 am) ×1.5
Sunday ×1.5
Holidays ×1.5

Holidays

  • New Year's Day
  • Lunar New Year
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas
  • Only labor is multiplied; the trip charge, pass-through costs and parts are not.
  • A visit that runs across two periods is billed by the time actually worked in each.
  • Work before 9 am counts as evening time (×1.5); we tell you when you book, and it is written in the quote.
  • No rush fee.

Farther areas and long trips

We work on site from our base in Flushing, Queens. For farther places the trip charge is still round-trip mileage, and:

Please book in advance for

  • Upstate New York / the Hudson Valley
  • Connecticut
  • Eastern Long Island
  • Central and southern New Jersey

What an itemized invoice looks like

Here is how each line of an invoice comes about. Amounts depend on the rates at the time and the actual costs, and appear on your written quote and invoice; they are left out here so you can see the basis of each line.

The example

  • A home customer in Midtown Manhattan; laptop repair on a weekday afternoon.
  • The work takes 1 hour 22 minutes, and a new screen is needed (bought after the customer approves).
  • The fastest route uses the Queens-Midtown Tunnel, and this is our only customer in the congestion zone that day.

A few common cases

  • 40 minutes of work Billed as 1 hour 1-hour minimum per visit
  • 1 hour 22 minutes of work Billed as 1.5 hours Rounded up to the next 15 minutes
  • Work starts at 7 pm or 8 am Labor ×1.5 Evening runs from 6 pm to 9 am; trip charge, pass-through costs and parts unchanged
  • Over 35 miles each way Book in advance; 2-hour labor minimum The trip charge is still round-trip mileage
  • Three customers in the congestion zone the same day Each pays 1/3 of the congestion toll It is charged once a day and split among the customers in the zone

Quotes

A quote first, work after you approve

The estimate is only a guide. You get a written quote after an on-site assessment, and work starts once you approve it.

  1. Tell us what is going on

Call, message us on WeChat, email or use the form. You can also try the estimator above first.

  2. On-site assessment and written quote

Once we have confirmed the problem and the scope, you get a written quote with labor, the trip charge and expected pass-through costs.

  3. Work starts after you approve

Parts and equipment are bought only with your approval, and any extra time is discussed first.

  4. An itemized invoice

Trip charge, labor, pass-through costs, parts and sales tax are listed separately, with receipts for pass-through costs and parts.

Business projects: POS, network cabling, security cameras, servers and website projects get a written project quote after an on-site assessment, itemizing labor, trip charges, pass-through costs and equipment the same way.

Questions about pricing

Why are there no prices on the website?

Every site has a different distance, route and amount of work, so we publish the method rather than a flat price. Use the estimator on this page for a rough range; after an on-site assessment you get a written quote.

Why is the trip charge based on the round trip?

We drive out from Flushing and back again, so the trip charge follows round-trip mileage on the Google Maps fastest route. Each customer’s trip charge is worked out separately and does not change with how we schedule the day.

How does the Manhattan congestion toll work?

It only applies when the job is in Manhattan at or below 60th Street (the congestion relief zone). We pass on the actual MTA charge, at most once a day, split among that day’s customers inside the zone. Customers outside the zone never share it.

What about evenings and weekends?

Evenings (6 pm to 9 am the next day), Sundays and holidays: labor ×1.5. The trip charge, pass-through costs and parts stay the same. Saturday daytime (9 am to 6 pm) is billed at the regular rate, and there is no rush fee.

What if I need to cancel, or am not there when you arrive?

There is no charge if you cancel before we arrive, even if it is less than 2 hours before the visit, though please tell us as early as you can. If we arrive at the agreed time and, after waiting 15 minutes, still cannot reach you, get in or find anyone there, the visit is billed as a visit: the trip charge, pass-through costs already incurred (such as tolls or parking) and the minimum labor for that visit (1 hour, or 2 hours for trips over 35 miles each way).

Can the final price differ from the estimate?

The estimate uses the distance and typical labor time for that kind of job, so it is a guide. After an on-site assessment you get a written quote, and if more time or parts are needed during the work, we talk to you first.

How are business projects quoted?

POS, network cabling, security cameras, servers and website projects get a written project quote after an on-site assessment, itemizing labor, trip charges, pass-through costs and equipment the same way.

How do I pay?

You can pay by Zelle or by check made out to Daxin Services Inc. The Zelle details are on your invoice, and payments go only to an account in the name of Daxin Services Inc. If anyone asks you by WeChat, text or email to pay a different account, call us at (315) 888-5858 to confirm first.

Want a figure for your job?

Tell us the service and the address. We look at the problem first and give you a written quote after an on-site assessment.
